Birds, they do tend to be a popular photo subject, if only for the reason they tend to be plentiful. Over the last few years, I tried to get examples of several of the bird species that are common to the mid-island. This collection shows a few of my favourites.

With all the water surrounding us, it's sometimes easy to forget the rivers, lakes and forest we're also blessed with. Here are some of my favourites that have something other than the saltwater as the main focus.
