Energy Balance Breathwork is a unique tool in the pursuit of optimal health and longevity. It is a fun process, undertaken in a lying position, breathing 3 consecutive patterns - accompanied by verbal facilitation and world tribal music over a period of approximately 1 hour. At the start of the process we do a short series of energy balance routines. And at the end, you have the option of measuring your heart rate variability (HRV) with a Polar H10.

With this type of breathwork, you will feel the energy flow increasingly through your chakras, meridians and other energy systems, bringing your body into a deep state of relaxation and energetic balance. At the same time, as you focus on the breath, your brainwaves will drop from a high beta state to a lower 'change' theta state. In the normal operation of this process, it is possible to intend certain health changes as well as it is to intend changes in beliefs to support these changes. This process can very much be tailored to you and what you want to manifest.
Introducing the tool of heart rate variability, this performance measurement can be used to measure the variability between heart beats. The heart picks up inputs from both the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems and high variability is optimal, indicating a balance between the 2 competing systems; which in turn means your body is managing stress from a starting position of balance.
Heart rate variability measurement is one of a number of measures which we can use to establish a baseline for our health and functional age – others options being an epigenetic profile, bloodwork, hair analysis, nutritional analysis. The benefits to using heart rate variability is it efficiently keys in on stress, whether it is caused by health, nutrition, relationship or more generally on life circumstances – something we all experience in some form; and it provides an easily obtained quantitative measure of the result.
The breathwork experience provides a fun, life expansive experience to accomplish progress towards longevity and optimal health; and the heart rate variability a means to assess change.
Epigenetics is the science that recognizes that environmental inputs account for 75% of the expression of our dna – 'environment' includes stress, beliefs and nutrition. So a lot is currently understood about how our genes express and what we can do to optimize this expression. This is part of the reason why now is such an exciting time for resetting longevity belief systems, as the science is there supporting a high quality of life to ‘120 years and beyond’ including the steps that can be taken to decrease your functional age.
