More software does not equal better information.
Usually, it just means you have another spreadsheet to babysit. Another list to manually update. Another place to search when someone asks a simple question.
This was the trap CropLife Canada found themselves in. They didn’t lack tools. They had Excel, Outlook, and lists everywhere.
The problem wasn't a lack of software. The problem was that the software refused to talk to each other.
The default corporate advice is to just buy a standard CRM.
But standard CRMs are built for sales teams. They track transactions. They are designed to ask: "How do we close this deal?"
Associations do something much harder. They manage ecosystems. They track relationships. They ask: "How do we connect this person, to this organization, to this committee, for the next ten years?"
When you force an ecosystem into a sales tool, it breaks. And suddenly, your team is stuck doing the software's job for it.
We partnered with CropLife Canada to stop the busywork. We used Members Village to build them a centralized portal. We didn't reinvent the wheel, but we configured a system that actually respects how they work.
A database structured around human relationships, not sales funnels.
A system where a change to a contact automatically updates their event access and mailing lists.
A secure foundation hosted right here in Canada.
Your association shouldn't have to change how it works to make your software happy.
If your team spends more time managing lists than connecting with your members, you don't need another spreadsheet.
You need a new foundation.

Old systems rarely fail loudly. They usually demand more and more quietly.
For CALP, the challenge was a portal that had adapted year after year. Helpful adjustments had kept things moving, but over time they also created more data entry, more review time, and more friction for the people using it.
Many association systems are still running on decisions that made sense five years ago.
The good news is that modernization does not have to mean starting over. For CALP, historical data was preserved, Canadian data residency was ensured, workflows were cleaned up, and the portal was rebuilt around how people actually work today.

If you’re advocating for policy, you aren't in the business of managing spreadsheets. You’re in the business of building trust.
But if your association’s data is a fragmented mess, you're just doing clerical work.
We’re giving a massive shout out to the Government Relations Institute of Canada (GRIC)!
GRIC is set up on Members Village to handle the heavy lifting: professional member directories, event management, and automated email broadcasts, all seamlessly integrated into their .
Clean, easy-to-manage data is here. When you stop fighting your software, you can actually lead your industry.
