Corkery Rink

Hi folks, just a reminder that the rink is NOT OPEN. The snow has been left on the surface intentionally so we can rebuild the base with it. Please ask your friends who aren't on Facebook to be patient and leave it be until you get the go ahead from this page. Well, if you hadn't guessed it already, last weekend we decided to call it for the 2025 season. You can still skate laps at the rink right now, but with the rain coming (almost an inch!) later this week, the remaining ice will be toast.
What an easy season this almost wasn't! Big thanks to Councillor Kelly for getting the utilities hooked up from the Fire Hall on very short notice so we could put the ice in. Hopefully we'll be running it from our own brand new community centre next year!
This year the conditions for making ice could not have been better but it would not have happened without our excellent volunteers. Huge thanks to the fantastic Corkery ODR Crew: Darcy Byrtus, Paul Bliss, the Dougs (Twining and Howie), the Duhn bros (Cameron and Curtis), Pervez Canteenwalla, Mike Beilby, Adam Colley, and Keith Charlebois.
Every little bit of effort you put into your community - even if it is just an hour a week shovelling snow off the rink - makes it better for the rest of us.
