Today, April 10, CNF honour Indigenous Nurses Day, recognizing the legacy of Charlotte Edith Anderson Monture — the first Indigenous nurse in Canada.

Her trailblazing path continues through First Nations, Métis, and Inuit nurses across the country who provide care rooted in culture, community, and healing.
CNF, thanks to our community of donors, is proud to support Indigenous nursing education and research through scholarships and bursaries each year — helping to strengthen the future of culturally safe care.

Today, we are also honoured to feature some of our past Indigenous Scholarship recipients.

The Canadian Nurses Foundation acknowledges that our work takes place on the traditional, unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe Nation. We honour their enduring presence and deep connection to this land.
