Located in Ottawa, Ontario, Gallery 101 is a non-profit artist-run centre with charitable status dedicated to the professional presentation of visual and media arts. Each year, we present a stimulating array of solo and group exhibitions of Canadian and international contemporary artists working in all mediums, at all career stages. We also offer services and professional development opportunities to artists, curators, writers and critics.

Art meets sound therapy. Experience mindfulness, a sound bath, and loving kindness (metta) while working on your fiber or small-scale art project.

What to expect:
⚪ Mindfulness meditation to bring gratitude and connection into our core being and energy reserves.
⚪ Space to work on your art project while being immersed in art and community.
⚪ Loving kindness (metta) to bring compassion to ourselves and to Southwest Asia and North Africa, including the Levant (Palestine and surrounding area), Sudan, and Iran.
⚪ Sound journey with an ocean drum and crystal singing bowls to support rest, stress release, and integration.
⚪ An allowing space and trauma-informed practice to be, just as you are.

ARTIST TALK : Join us on Zoom this Saturday for insights into Lisa Hirmer’s practice and reflections on our presence here as climate-altering humans on planet Earth, where the atmosphere puts us into relationship with all things. Lisa will be presenting her work in conversation with exhibition curator Elwood Jimmy, founder of the Musagetes Foundation.

The artist talk will be livestreamed in the gallery for those visiting on the final day of the exhibition.

CAUSERIE AVEC L’ARTISTE : Rejoignez-nous sur Zoom ce samedi pour découvrir la démarche de Lisa et ses réflexions sur l’atmosphère qui met tout en relation, ainsi que sur la présence des êtres humains sur la planète Terre et leurs actions qui en modifient le climat. Lisa présentera son travail lors d'une conversation avec Elwood Jimmy, commissaire de l'exposition et fondateur de la Fondation Musagetes.

La discussion avec l'artiste sera diffusée en direct dans la galerie pour les personnes qui visiteront l'exposition le dernier jour.
