OK Clean Water Project

being built in Kumbo and surrounding villages. The villagers in and around Kumbo volunteer their labour to build the water delivery structures and then receive training to manage and maintain the water supply. The project began in 2003 as an idea by the late Norma McCoy and her friends to send a one-time donation of $5,000 to respond to the needs expressed by Sister Cathy Molloy based in Kumbo. Since then, the idea grew into a volunteer-driven, grassroots project that has raised over $570,000 through individual donations and fundraisers to help Kumbo locals build their own clean water infrastructure. The partnership has greatly improved the opportunities and future prospects of the people who are desperate for it to stay healthy.
