Chance Foundation is a volunteer based organization made up of young, like-minded professionals dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children. As an organization, we envision a world where all kids have access to basic necessities and health services, the opportunity to attend school, and the Chance to play and be a kid. To realize this dream, our projects focus on three pillars that w
e believe are essential to child welfare – health, education and recreation. Originally the Charity of Hope to Assist the Needy Children of Ecuador (CHANCE), we began our journey abroad where we supplied a children’s hospital in Ecuador with medical supplies and equipment in order to meet critical needs. Shortly thereafter, our focus on children in Ecuador shifted to encompass all children worldwide, and the Charity of Hope to Assist Needy Children Everywhere (Chance) Foundation was born. Since 2007, Chance Foundation has attracted an extremely talented volunteer-base who have all helped build our history of success. In our brief history, we have outfitted a hospital in Ecuador, built a pre-school in Nicaragua, provided the means necessary for Ottawa-based families to enroll their kids in sports, revitalized parks in under-privileged neighbourhoods and much more. We are currently finalizing the construction of an orphanage in Haiti, which will provide over 50 kids with a safe place to live, electricity and clean water, sustainable food resources and the opportunity to obtain an education. The best part of our success stories is that our volunteers visit these projects and witness first-hand how our hard work and dedication impacts the lives of children – we are real people making a real impact. As an organization, we are in the process of growing and we continue to gain momentum. With a following of extremely dedicated supporters, a strong team of volunteers and our drive to partner with like-minded organizations, we have laid the foundation necessary for continued growth and success. Our long-term goal is to tackle large-scale social problems in order to achieve equal opportunity for all children regardless of gender, race, color, creed, situation, circumstance, or environment. Ultimately, we believe that the eradication of poverty is a tangible goal and, through our children, we are dedicated to being part of the solution.
