LEO 2 BLENDS IN WHILE ON OVERWATCH AT MSG

Our convoy stopped at MSG and was able to spot the Leopard 2 while on overwatch. A Badger AEV excavator arm was moving into position while the convoy was getting ready to head out to KAF

🗺️ Project Athena is a veteran-built web map where soldiers who served in Afghanistan can upload their photos, pin them to the exact location they were taken, and become part of a living record of the war.

We just crossed 1,400 photos added and the map is growing every week.

Look at this screenshot of the Kandahar area. Every one of those icons is a real photo, taken by a real veteran, at a real place. Patrol bases, FOBs, COPs, OPs, pinned across the landscape where Canadians fought, worked, and sacrificed.

This isn't a photo gallery. It's a geospatial record of the War in Afghanistan built by the people who were actually there.

If you served in Afghanistan, your photos belong on this map. Don't let them sit in a hard drive.

MILLAYWAN CHECKPOINT RESCUE

A QRF mission out of Ma'Sum Ghar in support of ANP station that had been attacked. 3RCR rolling heavy with tanks supported by infantry walked in to help ANP remove the dead and wounded. Not much left of the place or the local police by the time they arrived. Total guess on this route based on the photos and the classic Afghan school building shape at the end. Somewhere west of Rte Summit a couple of miles, but relying on twenty year-old memories, so yeah. Definitely, give this route/destination side-eye scepticism.
