If you're not fully clear on Hours of Service (HOS) rules, you’re opening the door to fines, audits, and even an unsafe driving pattern.

It’s not about getting to your destination when it’s convenient for you—it’s about how and when you drive. Understanding proper HOS can prevent driver fatigue, improve safety, and keep your fleet compliant with Ontario's regulations.

HOS violations aren’t just minor—they can result in major consequences that impact your reputation, insurance rates, and CVOR.

A safety consultant can help you understand the fine print, implement a solid plan, and get your fleet on the right track. 🚛

📢 Big update for Ontario drivers: The definition of careless driving has expanded beyond highways to now include parking lots, garages, and private parking areas. That means if you’re driving recklessly in a parking lot—whether it’s speeding, not yielding, or causing an accident—you could now face a careless driving charge.

Previously, law enforcement couldn’t lay charges for careless driving in parking lots, but this change gives them the ability to act when unsafe driving happens in these areas. With more enforcement possible, it’s a good time to remind drivers to slow down, stay alert, and drive responsibly in all spaces—not just on the road.

🚗 What does this mean for you? Be extra mindful in parking lots—slow down, avoid distractions, and give right-of-way where needed. Small spaces don’t mean small consequences!
