Muscle mass is often treated as a measure of fitness, but it only tells part of the story.

Here's what muscle mass can indicate:
✅ Your body's potential for strength and power
✅ Higher calorie expenditure at rest (muscle is metabolically active)
✅ Better support for joints, posture, and everyday movement
✅ A key factor in healthy aging and maintaining independence

But muscle mass doesn't automatically tell you:
❌ How strong you are
❌ How fit or healthy you are overall
❌ Your athletic performance
❌ Your body fat percentage

Two people can have the same amount of muscle mass and look, perform, and feel completely different depending on factors like training experience, body composition, nutrition, and genetics.

The takeaway: Muscle mass is a useful metric, but it works best when viewed alongside strength, mobility, cardiovascular fitness, recovery, and overall health markers.

Focus on building a body that performs well—not just one that scores well on a single measurement.

3 things your body wants you to know this month:

1️⃣ Strength matters. Building and maintaining muscle is one of the best things you can do for your health and longevity.

2️⃣ Walking counts. Don’t underestimate the power of getting your steps in—every bit of movement adds up.

3️⃣ Recovery is training. Sleep, rest, and recovery aren’t taking time away from your goals—they’re helping you achieve them.

Simple habits. Big impact. 💙
