Mimi and I go way back. ❤️

At 8 years old, she's a seasoned FLOOF professional. She knows the routine, I know her coat, and together we make a pretty good team.

The funny part? Her "before" photo was taken 8 weeks after her last Bath & Tidy, and really, she still looked fantastic.

That's the magic of keeping a dog on a regular schedule. Instead of spending an appointment fighting mats and trying to rescue a neglected coat, I get to focus on maintaining a beautiful one.

Today's Full Groom put all the finishing touches back in place 💎, and I think she'd agree, as she's looking pretty pleased with herself.

(Although she's probably just wondering why I keep making her pose before she gets to go home. 😂)

**Hazel's first haircut! 🐾**

I've been grooming Hazel since she was approximately 12 weeks old, and today, at 8 months old, she finally had her first full haircut.

Most Bernedoodles have had multiple haircuts by this age, but Hazel's coat grows much more slowly than many doodle coats, so we've been maintaining her with regular bath & tidy appointments while she learned all the grooming basics.

This is one of the reasons I spend so much time educating owners about coat genetics. Not all Bernedoodles look alike, grow coat at the same rate, or require the same grooming schedule. Every dog is an individual.

Because Hazel started grooming early and has visited regularly, today's haircut was just another normal day for her rather than a stressful experience. Building positive grooming habits from puppyhood makes such a difference.

I couldn't be happier with how this sweet girl did today. ❤️
