Life is better at the cottage.
Being at the cottage does not mean checking your responsibility at the door.
Hydro Flask campaign has us thinking about the ways we can continue to be plastic free even while on vacation.
Picnics on the dock:
> Use food flasks instead of ziplock bags. The bonus is that your food stays hot or cold - just the way you like it.
> Use regular cutlery instead of plastic. Food tastes better that way anyways.
> Double walled insulated bottles instead of plastic water bottles. The bonus is that there is no condensation on the bottle so everything stays dry.
> A lightweight cooler tote means you can carry more snacks down to the water. The watertight zipper also means no water can get in - you know - for those mishaps around the dock.

We may not be celebrating Canada Day in the same way this year, but it is good to take the time to enjoy the beauty of our own backyard (and to stop and smell the roses). Happy Canada Day!
