He holds a B.Eng. in Polymer Engineering, and an M.Mus. in Music Composition with first-degree honor, and was awarded the Best Master’s Thesis Prize for his Symphony in Three Movements. His major studies have been with Christos Hatzis, Alexander Rapoport, and Norbert Palej. He has several years of postsecondary teaching experience at the University of Toronto, Art University of Tehran, Azad University, and Tehran Conservatory of Music, where he offered different courses including piano, music theory, sight-singing, ear-training, history, harmony, counterpoint, and composition. As a teacher, Keyan uses various resources to provide his students with the tools in a step by step approach to achieving their full musical potential.
