As Mason (owner of MH Contracting) explains in the video, the natural clay-heavy dirt and loose soil conditions we frequently encounter across the Island simply don't provide a stable base material. If you pour directly over clay, your concrete is practically guaranteed to shift, crack, and fail over time due to our wet Pacific Northwest climate.
To guarantee maximum structural integrity for this residential project, Mason is using the Kubota excavator to scrape out the poor subgrade material down an inch or two. Next, we are prepping the sub-base by introducing heavy, rocky material that offers excellent compaction character

MH Contracting is looking for a full-time Carpenter. Pay starts at $30-$32hr for the 1st 30 days but there's a lot of room for growth for the right person. $30-$40hr, trailer full of tools ready to go, company truck after 90 day's, ect. Work includes but not limited to building decks, stairs, fences, and sometimes sheds/siding. Possibly interested in subcontracting the right person.
