KANVA Architecture

NOUVELLE | Nous sommes très heureux d’annoncer qu’𝐎𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 est maintenant officiellement 𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞, 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐞 𝐥’𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐮 𝐐𝐮𝐞́𝐛𝐞𝐜 (OAQ), à la suite de la réussite de l’EXAC.

Présent au sein de l’équipe depuis octobre 2023, Olivier occupe également depuis le début de l’année le rôle de 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞́ 𝐝𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐭.

Profondément engagé, tant au bureau qu’à l’extérieur — notamment à travers COMMUN, un OBNL qu’il a cofondé, Olivier est un membre précieux de l'équipe KANVA.

NEWS | We are very pleased to announce that 𝐎𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 is now officially an 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐮 𝐐𝐮𝐞́𝐛𝐞𝐜 (OAQ), following the successful completion of the EXAC.

A member of the KANVA team since October 2023, Olivier has also taken on the role of 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫 since the beginning of the year.

Deeply committed both within the studio and beyond — notably through COMMUN, a non-profit organization he co‑founded — Olivier is a valued member of the KANVA team.

PRIX | AZ Awards 2026
Nous sommes très fiers d’annoncer que deux projets de KANVA sont finalistes des AZ Awards 2026 dans la catégorie Concept :
▪ Centre culturel Kina8at
Inspiré par la carapace de la tortue, symbole Anishinaabe, le Centre culturel Kina8at propose un parcours architectural où se croisent culture, paysage et transmission des savoirs, dans une relation sensible au territoire.
▪ Platform 19 — Revitalisation de la cour Cenovus, Université d’Ottawa
Pensée comme une salle de classe vivante, Platform 19 transforme un espace universitaire en infrastructure pédagogique ouverte, favorisant la biodiversité, l’apprentissage expérientiel et l’adaptation aux changements climatiques.

Cette reconnaissance souligne notre engagement envers une architecture attentive au vivant, au contexte et aux communautés.

AWARD | AZ Awards 2026
We are honored to share that two KANVA projects have been selected as finalists for the AZ Awards 2026 in the Concept category:
▪ Kina8at Cultural Centre
Inspired by the turtle shell, an Anishinaabe symbol, the project unfolds as an architectural journey connecting culture, landscape and the transmission of knowledge through a sensitive relationship to place.
▪ Platform 19 – Cenovus Courtyard Revitalization, University of Ottawa
Conceived as a living classroom, Platform 19 reimagines a university space as an open pedagogical infrastructure that supports biodiversity, experiential learning and climate adaptation.

This recognition reflects our commitment to an architecture rooted in living systems, context and communities.

DISTINCTION | Nous sommes extrêmement fiers d’annoncer que Rami Bebawi, cofondateur de KANVA, a été nommé Fellow du Collège de l’IRAC, l’une des plus hautes distinctions en architecture au Canada. Nous félicitons également tous les nouveaux Fellows 2026 pour cette reconnaissance de leur contribution remarquable à la profession. La cérémonie d’intronisation aura lieu le 6 mai 2026 à Vancouver.

DISTINCTION | We are extremely proud to announce that Rami Bebawi, co founder of KANVA, has been named a Fellow of the RAIC College, one of the highest distinctions in architecture in Canada. We also extend our congratulations to all the new 2026 Fellows for this recognition of their remarkable contributions to the profession. The induction ceremony will take place on May 6, 2026, in Vancouver.
