Due to COVID19 - Call for appointment beforehand until further notice. Every day thousands of children arrive at school hungry because their parents contend with poverty and cannot afford to feed them a proper meal. Without adequate nutrition they do not attend classes regularly. Experience and testimonials have proven that when children are fed healthy meals and snacks, they are more productive i
n class and achieve better academic results. Our food programs assist children in becoming more independent and self-sufficient. In high schools, the leadership students coordinate our breakfast program, preparing, serving and cleaning up. Special needs students, with supervision, prepare breakfast or light lunches in a life-skills program. Single parents in a continued education program and their children benefit from our healthy snack and light lunch program. We provide healthy snacks for a variety of after school programs: homework, tutoring, reading, art, music, physical fitness and sport. We provide food to drop-in centers that help young adults hone their skills, including cooking and nutrition, and find jobs. During the summer months, we sponsor children to country sleep away camps to help children develop new friendships and meet new challenges in the countryside and which also offers respite to families in distress. We provide laptops at graduation to encourage students to show initiative and improve study skills. It is important to note that we do not sell donated food or other articles. Our donor list is confidential and we are funded by concerned and generous individuals and companies who "invest" in the children to build better communities. Call 514.933-8585.
