Most enterprise commerce teams treat their site search as a feature they launched once and moved on from.

But on-site search converts at 2-5x browse traffic, and represents 20-30% of revenue at most enterprise retailers. It's the highest-intent surface on the entire site, and quietly, in most companies, the most neglected.

In our latest piece, we break down the four levers of modern search merchandising (synonyms, guided navigation, personalization, merchandising rules), why each one decays without ongoing attention, and why search deserves to be run as a channel, not a feature.

If you'd rather not build that discipline in-house, Managed Search by Molsoft handles it for you — synonym maintenance, merchandising rules, null-search remediation, filter taxonomy, and personalization tuning, as an ongoing service.

POS migrations fail for predictable reasons. None of them are technical.

The real issue? Most teams treat migration as a system replacement. It needs to be treated as an operational transition.
Payments, hardware, customer records, inventory, tax logic, permissions, reporting, in-store operations — a POS migration touches all of it at once. When you don't track each workstream independently, risk accumulates quietly until launch day.

That's exactly the challenge we faced with Trévi 🌊

The brief: move off Magento while unifying decades of legacy systems (ERP, CRM, contract logic, multi-warehouse inventory, 9 physical locations) — without losing operational continuity for a single day.

By treating it as an operational program rather than a technical cutover, the results spoke for themselves:

✅ +162% revenue growth
✅ +47% conversion rate increase
✅ +12% average order value uplift

"The new website gave us the structure needed to propel our omnichannel growth. Customers now benefit from a smooth, frictionless experience, whether online or in-store." — Sebastien Aebi, E-commerce Director, Trévi

Chapter 5 of our executive guide breaks down the 11 migration workstreams that need to be tracked independently for a disruption-free go-live. 👇

Most enterprise AI agents are deployed as ticket deflectors, measured by how few customers reach a human, optimized for cost, and treated as a help desk that happens to be automated.

That's only half the value of the technology. And it's the wrong half to optimize for.

In our latest piece, we unpack what modern AI agents can actually do beyond deflection, from product recommendations to cart recovery to post-purchase upsell, and why most deployments leave the larger half of the opportunity on the table. The gap isn't capability. Its configuration.

It's exactly what we operate for clients through our Managed Gorgias service.

A POS used to be a terminal at the front of a store. That framing is now a liability.

Today's POS touches customer capture, inventory, omnichannel service, and data continuity. Its architecture determines whether your stores operate as isolated transaction points, or as integrated nodes in a unified commerce model.

Chapter 3 of our executive guide breaks down the five evaluation dimensions that actually matter when choosing a POS.

Most enterprise email teams spend their week building campaigns. Their flows haven't been audited in over a year.

But Klaviyo's own data tells a different story: automated flows generate ~30% of total email revenue from less than 5% of sends, out-earning campaigns per recipient by 3-5x.

They're the highest-margin asset in the marketing stack, and the most consistently neglected.

In our latest piece, we unpack why flows decay quietly, why a 10% lift on a flow compounds in ways a campaign never can, and what a real flow optimization program looks like.

Today, Molsoft is launching Layaway on the Shopify App Store.

Every retail store runs an informal version of layaway already, customers asking to hold an item, partial payments collected at POS, hold periods tracked on sticky notes in the back room. The behaviour is universal. The infrastructure to support it inside Shopify hasn't existed. Until now.

Layaway lets staff reserve products from the POS cart and lock inventory for a specific customer, collect an optional deposit upfront, track partial payments over time, set custom hold periods with auto-expiry, send customers email reminders before their layaway lapses, and manage every active reservation across every location from a single dashboard.

It's the workflow your store has been running for years, finally inside the system.

Most retailers don't see the cost of fragmented systems until it's already a problem — a stalled BOPIS rollout, a failed D2C launch, a quarter of contested forecasts.

The hidden cost shows up in stockouts, manual reconciliation, and customer experiences that fall short of what your team can actually deliver. McKinsey estimates inventory inaccuracy from data latency costs mid-market retailers 10-15% of annual inventory value.

In our latest article, we break down how fragmentation compounds, the five signals it's time to consolidate, and how to choose between a unified commerce platform and a better integration layer.
