Nayan & MILA - 2020

Nayan avait pour mandat de proposer une activité rassembleuse qui créerait un souvenir de la grande journée d’inauguration des nouveaux locaux du MILA – le Centre d’intelligence artificielle de Montréal. Il y avait beaucoup de discussions et de présentations théoriques, nous étions là pour que les neurones puissent se dégourdir et que les doigts jouent dans la colle, le marbre, la céramique, le miroir, le métal et quelques composants électroniques choisis spécialement pour l’occasion.

Nous nous sommes inspirés de la rencontre entre l’informatique et le biologique, l’humain et son double robotique afin de proposer une oeuvre figurative inspirante à l’image de l’endroit qu’elle habite désormais.

Nayan's mandate was to propose a unifying activity that would create a memory of the grand inauguration day of the new premises of MILA – the Montreal Artificial Intelligence Center. There were a lot of discussions and theoretical presentations, we were there so that the neurons could stretch and the fingers could play in glue, marble, ceramic, mirror, metal and some electronic components chosen especially for the occasion.

We were inspired by the meeting between computing and biology, the human and its robotic double in order to offer an inspiring figurative work reflecting the place it now inhabits.
