This card used to be about $25 at the bottom. When S&V Base Set first released, the pull rates were aggressively high when comparing to SWSH.

You could complete the entire set with about 3-4 booster box openings which was very rare in SWSH.

It was initially welcomed in the hobby and then shunned as cards didn't keep their values. Fast forward to the hype of today, this card has appreciated 140% over the last 12 months.

As the first block of S&V set rotated out, S&V Base Set is now firmly out of print and folks are flocking to the first 6 sets of the era to add to their collection.

With consistent volume and gradual price increase, the appreciation looks more like a natural climb than the doings of Team Rocket.

Are you rushing to get your cards or do you believe the euphoria will slowly die down?

Probably a more anticipated set than the upcoming Marvel Super Heroes Set, The Hobbit saw major sales volume yesterday during TCG Players Mayhem Sale.

With a 8% Store Credit on purchased items, it's a good hedge on big ticket items such as Collector Boxes.

Considering there are no serialized cards although there is a confirmation that there is limited print runs for the main chase card, the gold Smaug the Magnificent, a lot of people are already jockeying and trying to secure their collector boxes.

It's also important to note that this set isn't releasing with any commander decks.

As this set drops in August, do you think there is more opportunity in getting a collector box at these elevated prices or to score some LOTR commander decks as a proxy to this set?

Probably the weakest set from the 2024 release schedule, Stellar Crown did not see a reprint after it's initial release wave.

Only the Squirtle and Bulbasaur were real chase cards from the set, they were only Illustration Rare cards.

As the demand remains high in the hobby, specially for starter Pokémon, those cards are now pushing $125 for a NM copy at the writing of this post. Bulbasaur is actually more expensive than Squirtle.

Terapagos EX SIR had doubled in price in the last month. I saw some posts online of how a lot of LGSs aren't able to keep up with prices and a handful of people finding these cards for ~$30.

With the insane hype in the hobby, is now the time to look for deals or sell into the hype and buy that higher end card you were looking for?
