Network expansion or Battery storage, that is the question!
Traditional solution is to expand the network but with the batteries prices falling in recent years storage seems to be a new possibility for bold markets. Which Battery technology Is the best now? ion lithium now is a rising in importance as Battery Storage Systems for transmission and distribution.
Talking about the best place to build a battery bank. The batteries must be placed in a lower voltage level closest to where it is needed. Doing this you are going to have the best performance for your battery and system.
Today battery life time is 10 years and the life time is increasing on a rate of one year in last 3 years.
Batteries are becoming an elegant solution for various ancillaries needs in the grid.
