5000 Farms

We need your help! So far 5000 Farms is anticipating the largest harvest since beginning in 2015. With the worsening food security crisis in Atlantic Canada, we know we can make an impact with over 300,000 lbs of produce and protein. Our mission is to feed people who are depending on our food banks and kitchens and show the love of Christ in everything we do. However, 5000 Farms is running critically short of its' operating budget.

Faith is the currency of heaven and we're not pleasing to God or of much good here without it; So, we know He will provide us with the resources we need. Can you help with spreading the word of our mission and helping us through this season? We operate with very low overheads, and one cost to this is we don't have the best marketing or awareness out there. Aside from one full-time farm manager we can't live without, (the rest of us are volunteers), every dollar we raise goes directly into the fields and food we raise. And that takes diesel, fertilizers, equipment and parts, supplies and many other costs all farms incur. We don't compete with our vital farmers in this region either. We exist for one reason, and that is to donate 100% of our crops into the food security network: the food banks, kitchens and missions that increasingly so many people of all walks of life are relying on. Protein is urgently needed across New Brunswick’s food security network.

Food Banks Canada and food banks across NB specifically identify protein as a crucial need. In 2026, 5000 Farms is planning on donating 16,000 servings of chicken and 300,000 pounds of vegetables through Feed Nourrir NB's food security network to help meet the rising demand across Atlantic Canada
