PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT. WANT BLACK WINDOW FRAMES?
Please, please do NOT paint your vinyl windows black. Why? Read on.
We regularly go to clients houses who have painted their vinyl windows black, and their glass has cracked and they don't know why.
Black absorbs heat - and if your windows were originally white or light coloured vinyl, painting them black causes the vinyl to warp and this causes glass breakage, failure to operate properly, and they often cannot be repaired.
This is just one image of a recent cracked window we saw - directly caused by painting white vinyl windows black two years ago.
If you want black frames on your windows, have new black framed windows installed, which generally perform better when they are painted black at the manufacture level.
