裝修中最難後悔的決定之一：瓷磚
One of the hardest renovation decisions to change later: Tile

瓷磚不是單獨看一塊材料好不好看，而是要看它放在哪個空間、用多大面積、會不會成為視覺重點，以及預算應該放在哪裡。

以上圖為例，不同位置的瓷磚選擇，其實都有不同原因。

主層地面，我們通常會建議使用較大尺寸的瓷磚，例如 24” x 48”。大磚縫隙較少，空間看起來更乾淨、開闊，也比較適合客廳、廚房、玄關這類大面積空間。

浴室則要考慮空間大小和清潔問題。如果浴室本身不大，瓷磚尺寸、紋理和顏色都要控制好，避免空間看起來太碎、太亂。選對比例，浴室會更整齊，也更容易打理。

廚房 backsplash 不一定要選最貴的磚。如果預算有限，subway tile 或簡潔長條磚反而是很好的選擇，耐看、容易清潔，也不容易過時。重點是要和櫃體、檯面、五金顏色搭配得自然。

壁爐牆就不一樣。如果客廳需要一個 focus point，瓷磚可以用來增加層次感，讓整個空間更有重點。但如果家裡已經有很強的石材、木飾面或大型櫃體，壁爐磚就不一定要太搶眼。

所以我們幫客戶選磚時，會先看空間大小、光線、是否需要視覺重點、櫃體和檯面的搭配、清潔保養，以及預算應該集中在哪些地方。

客戶真正得到的，不只是一塊好看的瓷磚，而是一個比例舒服、風格統一、預算用得清楚，並且長期耐看的空間。

Good tile selection is not just about choosing a beautiful material.

It depends on where the tile will be used, how large the space is, how much area it covers, whether it should become a focus point, and how the renovation budget should be used.

For main floor areas, larger tiles such as 24” x 48” can help reduce grout lines and make the space feel cleaner and more open.

For bathrooms, the tile size, pattern, and colour need to work with the scale of the room. The goal is to make the bathroom feel calm, tidy, and easy to maintain.

For a kitchen backsplash, the most expensive tile is not always necessary. If the budget is limited, a simple subway tile or narrow tile can still look timeless, practical, and easy to clean.

For a fireplace wall, tile can create a strong focus point. But if the space already has bold stone, wood panels, or custom millwork, the tile may need to stay more subtle.

Good design is not about using expensive materials everywhere.
It is about knowing where to keep things simple, where to create impact, and where the budget should be spent.
