Physics of pizza: thicker the crust, the taller you can pile your pie Thin crust, be damned. Sure, thin is how the Italians do it. But there's something to be said for thick crust. Besides its doughy qualities, a thick pizza base ensures structural integrity. No matter how high the toppings are piled, your slice can be picked up without being rendered flimsy.
