And who we were

The notion of the silence of you

You were strong

Not usually calm

You were mighty in thought

And bought many a dream

Your bravado great

And the maker of all things

You were stubborn and hard

But left a bit of wild card in all of us

You were driven and determined

So many ideas for certain

Rough around the edges

A lone bird sitting on the ledge of life

You loved in private

A captain of your heart

From the start

Giving bits and pieces along the way

Sharing always that tomorrow was a new day

And in the end, we saw the softness of you

The brave face

That gave space

To show us that you were ready

To heal

To let go

And to be free

Life is not easy

But you did it

You did good

Lift your arms high to the sky

Release the fear and the fight

The beam of light you love so dear is waiting for you
