Are you a Black student interested in a career in medicine?
The UBC Black Medical Students’ Association (BMSA) is hosting our inaugural outreach event for Black high school and undergraduate students who want to explore what a future in medicine could look like.
Join us for a welcoming and interactive afternoon where you can connect with current medical students, ask questions, and learn more about the path to becoming a doctor.
Event Details
• Date: Sunday, April 26
• Time: 12:00PM - 4:00 PM
• Where: Surrey Memorial Hospital Lecture Theatre B110 LT (in the Critical Care Tower)
What to expect:
• A Q&A panel with medical students sharing their journeys into medicine
• Hands-on workshops introducing basic clinical skills
• Small-group discussions and mentorship opportunities
• Lunch and time to connect with peers and mentors
Whether you’re just starting to think about medicine or already considering it as a career, this event is a great opportunity to learn, ask questions, and build connections. Spots are limited, so make to sign up as soon as possible!

DUAL CREDIT PROGRMS INFO
Dual credit programs in BC allow students in grades 11 & 12 to take post-secondary courses, earning both high school graduation and post-secondary credits (dual credit). These tuition free programs are supported by the Ministry of Education and Child Care, offering pathways into trades, technology or academic studies while reducing post-secondary costs.
Students interested in applying to these programs must download and complete the applications (see links below) and email back to Ms. Griffin at [email protected] by April 24th! Please return the original documents to the Career Centre at your school.
