Over the past couple years I've become accustomed to working with the magic makers at Our Homes Magazine and it is always an exciting process. 🀩

This project was my second official feature and second time working with their lovely editor and photographer. Having the opportunity to return to the clients home for a professional shoot and proper marketing blitz always feels like the icing on the cake 🍰 to a beautiful design and having a printed issue documenting the project serves as a nice little memento in return.

πŸ’‘Lights, Camera, Action!πŸ’‘ This sweet niche will have you ready to go in no time with it's practical placement between powder room and coat closet. Attending events, hosting company and rushing to work in the morning suddenly become stressless as you flit elegantly between everything you need, just a few feet from your front door. πŸ’…πŸ»

It took a long time to find the perfect entryway cabinet but I love the end result. 🀩

It's more complicated than just picking a cabinet! What size/scale is it? It might technically fit the space - but does it suit the space? Does it suit your needs, your budget? Beyond the practical items, there are artwork, decor, lighting, mirror and surface material selections to account for as well!

So, though there are formulas we follow to ensure your place is well-designed, there is no one size fits all solution and a professional will know how to cater to your exact space, style and (very importantly) lifestyle. πŸ‘Œ

Two of my favourite features in this entryway are the beautiful pendants we had installed and the custom designed staircase.

The lighting in this space was especially important πŸ’‘ We always design the lighting layout FIRST, during the planning and rough-in stage, which means we have to know what we're doing and where it's going months before the final pieces are selected! We chose these "Bruni" pendants for their scale and simplicity. Their airy aesthetic and translucency coordinated perfectly with both the sconces and living room chandelier that share the space. ✨ Hanging them in multiples adds just the right amount of impact and helps lead your eye towards the breathtaking backdrop that surrounds the seating area. 🌲🌳

The staircase was designed, built and installed by London Stair and Railing. To ensure the perfect finish, I had Barnes Finishing come and match the LVP floors and select the perfect stain for this solid maple work of art. Metal balusters were chosen to tie into the entryway door and other black accents throughout the home while allowing full view of a stunning stone-clad accent wall that envelopes the stairway, leading to a basement rec room.

The BEST part about this entryway? The VIEW! Keep an eye on my feed to see the most enchanting home I've had the pleasure of working on! πŸ‘€

Wow - We made it! After a brief delay and without a square inch to spare, we made it to our clients home in good time to set up for our Our Homes Magazine photo shoot. It was such a rewarding experience returning to this project. ❀ When you build a home from the drawing stage through to completion, it's hard to appreciate everything you've accomplished. But when you return to the space and see all the little touches ✨ your clients have added to make the home feel personal and lived in, you really view it with fresh eyes.

It feels like you've given someone an amazing gift -
and they love it,
and use it all the time.
