I see a lot of self-employed entrepreneurs do a lot of branding type marketing, which is not a terrible idea! But for me, branding is something that should be used for a completely different purpose.
For a better quick explanation , Branding is something you would set up at the beginning of your marketing journey and change only once every 5-7 years to keep up with the trends.

Where Marketing can be every and anything in between that draws people to your social media to want to see what it is your business is up too such as things your are selling, personal posts (but to a minimum because you still want your business page to be about business) , insights in to what you value in your field etc.

The most important thing to take away is that you should always have a good mix of both.
