Why do we give the devil so much air time? It seems some people are more attuned to what the enemy is doing then they are to what God is doing. They live with a constant expectation of something going wrong. They fear satan and his demons. There is a principle that says whatever you give your attention to that is where your focus and awareness will be. We must focus on the wonder, majesty and greatness of our God! We must focus on His goodness and kindness. We must remember who He is and take our cues from Him on how He dealt with the devil.

Jesus was not afraid of the devil. He didn't focus on what the devil was doing. He didn't really pay too much attention to him at all. When it was necessary to deal with a demon Jesus cast them out. When he met the devil in the dessert He confronted him with the truth of the Word. The bible tells us that the purpose of Jesus coming to earth was to destroy the works of the evil one. Jesus triumphed over satan in the midst of hell, making an open show of him. In Jesus, we have authority to deal with anything the devil conjures up. In my thinking we should deal with him the same way Jesus did.

“Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”
I John 3:7-8 NKJV

“Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.”
Colossians 2:15 NKJV

This is amazing love: Jesus died for us when we were enemies of God. Why is it so hard for us to love like Him? The God kind of love lays down its life even for its enemies. This is true love and true forgiveness. When we understand the way God loves all of us we will be better at loving and forgiving the way He does.

“In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.”1 John 4:9 NKJV

“But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,”
Matthew 5:44 NKJV

“Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”
Matthew 22:37-39 NKJV

What if the worries that come to pull us in every direction were invitations from Jesus to work things out together? After all He is with us in all things and has promised to never leave us or forsake us. So why do we fuss and worry when we can count on His faithfulness to help us through every circumstance, every trial, and every situation no matter how difficult they may be.

Worry is a trickster that trys to inflate our problem and convince us everything is worse than ever, bigger than we can handle, more intimidating, more devastating, more uncontrollable, and more impossible! Worry is a hamster wheel, an endless cycle of focussing on every thing that is wrong instead focussing on Jesus who can make everything ALL RIGHT!

That fraudster called “Worry” is driven by fear simmering on the back burner of our brain waiting to boil over and cause all kinds of trouble. It fools us and makes us feel like we are doing something when in fact, we are being unproductive! Worry coaches us to lift more weight than we can bear and wear us out. We might think that worrying about something is a natural part of being responsible for it, but that is a lie!

Turning to Jesus and expressing our worries to Him, throws a wrench in the gears of the hamster wheel and suddenly we cease striving, cycling and inflating the power of the enemy. That is the perfect time to allow ourself to be saturated with the Word of God!

The following verses of scripture have anchored me through all kinds of trials and challenges. In every instance, I was able to find a promise of God that opposed the lie of the enemy. This is how we fight our battles and win.

Today I pray for those of you who are struggling and finding it difficult not to worry. I pray that this post will encourage you to trust Jesus with your concerns. Please take a moment to state your worries in the comments and we can all pray for each other. ❤️

“Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will guard your heart and mind through Jesus Christ. Keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always.” Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬ TPT
