Weekly Weakly Written Scene of the Week!
Hammer Time
Timmy loved going to the fair with his friends or family, it became something of a habit of this eight year old’s life around the summertime to hit the fair grounds and play as many of the games and activities as possible with his chore money. One of the things that got him the most excited was the hammer game, because every year he knew that he got it higher. This time around though, the gentleman hosting the game was quite the character. Al was enticing an audience with his hammer skills, swinging it above his head and around in circles behind his back like some sort of ninja. Timmy’s skills couldn’t possibly do this, but Al insisted that he give the hammer game a shot. Fueled by the pressure of Al’s eyes, Timmy winded the hammer as far back as he could before smashing the metal plate with as much force as he could. The bell dinged at the top. Silence took over Al, who suddenly looked like a child whose kite just got caught in a tree. Timmy, now with a newfound confidence, demanded for the biggest toy that he could possibly get. Al, unable to live with himself after this humiliation, took off his apron and his cap, giving them over to Timmy. He knew that his time running the hammer game was over and felt confident in passing it along to someone as powerful as Timmy. Timmy would later leave the fourth grade, never to return to finish school, as his life was destined to be working on the hammer game at the fair.
