On this World Su***de Prevention Day, we want to take a moment and thank all the incredible volunteers, staff and individuals who have supported someone who has reached out, talked about, or faced Su***de in their lives.
We were on hand today at the Galt Museum & Archives for an incredible journey with John Thompson through the history of Su***de Prevention in Southern Alberta and the role that groups like the Samaritans and Lethbridge Family Services do to continually support, educate and bring people together.
So whether you have supported someone personally or professionally; whether you worked or volunteers led in su***de prevention for decades or a single day; thank you for being there when someone needed it.
Resources are still available if you need someone to talk to 24/7, including:
** 988 - National Su***de Prevention Hotline **
** 211 - Resources & Supports **
** 403.327.7905 - Distress Line of SW Alberta **
