Might be a good idea to ask Lethbridge Mayor Blaine Hyggen why he hasn’t been brave or effective enough to stand up to Danielle Smith like Mayor Farkas has done.

The Premier, the cabinet and the caucus - along with the Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and his caucus - need to tell us which side they’re on.

If they’re not on Scott Bessent’s side, or the Alberta separatists’ side, then they should be ok to say so.

On the floor of their respective legislatures, for a start.

The Premier’s support for the separatism movement has gone from politically cynical to downright dangerous. The same US administration that has shown its willingness to use military force to expand its powers is watching Alberta’s separatism movement with great interest. Danielle Smith has opened this irresponsible door. It’s time for her to close it.
