We do custom orders, and can do pretty much anything you can think of.

We did our first ever show in 2015 at the Star Trek convention in Vulcan. We were manning the Last Chance Cat Ranch table, and made 20 hand painted mugs to sell for the charity. We sold them all, and figured maybe we were onto something. We did more shows and eventually moved into Purple Hippo Boutique. Tomorrow, we will be packing up the few items we have left, and vacating our spot at the store for good.
After 10 years, we decided to call it quits. We had no idea we would do it this long, it was a lot of fun, but hard work. Making my own images by both drawing and painting made us unique. Too many others came along and simply get their images off Google, Etsy, or AI. It made it hard to compete, and to be honest, we got frustrated and bored with it. I was putting hours into each drawing, where others had their images in 30 seconds. When we switched from hand painting our items to sublimation, you stuck with us and continued to purchase from us.
Anyways, we want to thank everyone for the past 10 years of loyalty and support. We do miss the shows, and of course the people we met. I will say this is going to be the most relaxing December we’ve had in 10 years though, so that’s something!
We truly thank those of you who came to shows specifically to find us, and came year after year to add new pieces that we made.
Thank you to the Calgary Horror Con, Domesticated Divas, Purple Hippo, Lethbridge Handmade Market, and others I’m probably missing. We always enjoyed selling our items with you, and you’ll be missed.
As ideas are always swirling around in our minds, there’s always a chance we could come back and do something different, but as for now we are enjoying our spare time. Thanks everyone, we truly appreciate all of you. 🙂

We hope to see you this weekend, at what will likely be our last show ever. We’ll have some blowout prices on some of our stuff, hope to see you there.

Hi everyone. I've been getting alot of messages the last few days, so I guess it's time for an update. This will be kinda long, so please bear with me.
We've slowly reopened, after closing down shortly after Christmas. This was due to being burned out from being so busy, and having to make so many things to fulfill Christmas orders.
I just stopped enjoying making the stuff we make, and it was taking up all of my free time. When it comes to the point it's not fun...you have to step back from it. Thats basically what happened.
We're now back, slowly making new things here and there, keeping our space filled at the Purple Hippo Boutique in Lethbridge. We've also been making some items for a few of our loyal customers and businesses. It's a slow process, as I try to get the motivation to amp production back up.
We're sorry to say we WILL NOT be at Calgary Horror Con this year, the first time in 7 years we won't be vendors there. As much as we love the show, it's just not feasible for us to do it.
Why, we keep getting asked? With tables, supplies, meals, gas, hotel, we just don't make enough over and above the overhead costs to justify all the time we have to devote to the show. It takes a month to make enough product, then set up, sit there for 2 long days, tear down. It's just a lot of work for not enough reward. As much as we love coming to this show every year, it's just not worth it. 😕
We will also NOT be vending at the Lethbridge Entertainment Expo. We've been getting lots of messages asking if we'll be selling items there too. Again..just can't see us selling enough to really make it worth our time.
We MAY consider doing the Big Christmas Show at the end of November, but we're still discussing that. We already got the application believe it or not. That's honestly the only show we may do this year. We used to do 4-6 shows a year...but it's become too much work and we're just not sure if we still want to do it. Every show we do, I have to go take down our entire spot at the store, then after the show, go put it all back. It's a lot of time and work.
Going forward....if you're looking for something, please message through the Mug Town Funk page. We will answer as soon as we can.
We should be able to do most items...but if it starts to become too much, we will have to step away again. We both work full time, and we do need some down time and a break from work. We know you all understand.
We also try to use our own artwork and drawings in the items we sell. Most are pencil crayon and ink, some are paintings on canvas. These are also very time consuming. In a world of AI art, it can be frustrating to try and keep up. There's lots of characters I still want to draw, but again, a break was needed to step away. I'm really hoping I can sit down and do some more images to put on our products.
I gotta say....If it wasn't for our awesome, supportive customers, we wouldn't have even done it this long. But, we've had alot of fun and met some great people the past few years. We really want it to continue being fun, so we'll just take it slow for now.
If you have any questions, please ask. Thank you for your continued support and understanding...Shawn and Tracy - MUG TOWN FUNK

Hi everyone. I'm sure lots of you have heard about the horrific animal abuse that was discovered earlier this week at a house in Picture Butte involving cats. We won't post details here, but you can go to:
https://www.thelastchancecatranch.com
if you you want to read more. Warning...it's really disturbing.
The good news is that the surviving cats have been removed from this house with the help of the Last Chance Cat Ranch and the RCMP. They are being treated and recovering from various injuries, including being thrown outside in -40 weather. There will be large vet bills incurred resulting from this.
Us, and some of our fellow vendors at the Purple Hippo Boutique have decided to donate a percentage of our sales from now until the end of the month.
If you've been thinking of getting a new mug, tumbler, cutting board, tote bag, or whatever else from us...now is the time. We will donate 20% of, everything we sell until month's end. At the store, please look for the blue LCCR signs to show what other vendors are participating too.
We just filled up our spot with some of our most popular items, so please go have a look. Not only that...but just down the street, Stella's restaurant will be selling off fresh baking this Friday with money also going to the rescue from them. It's a wonderful opportunity to do some shopping, get some amazing food, and support this rescue that sorely needs it.
If you can't make it down, or don't want to purchase anything...you can also donate directly to them. Please go to their page to find out how. $2, $5...any amount big or small helps.
Thank you to our awesome family, friends, and customers who support us...and we know will help support the rescue during this extremely difficult time. This rescue was already full, and then this situation happens. The food and vet costs alone are huge, and they need help. We just feel like we need to help somehow. Thanks everyone
