First Stages Child Care

I am a PSW. And I lost a client today. They teach you in school to not get close to your clients / residents , I laugh at that “rule” now. I am a human with nothing but love and compassion, how can I not become close to the people I care for ? I hold hands, wipe tears from eyes and lend a listening to ear. I offer no opinion and no judgment . I offer help to those who cannot do for themselves while still preserving dignity. I too grieve that loved family member that just passed away.
