654 days of violent, active genocide. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in stage 5 famine— the permanent, generational damaging level of starvation— being waged on them by Israel, the US, and the rest of this complicit world including Canada.

It’s been so hard to keep finding words, keep begging governments and institutions to act, to keep calling and writing representatives— to do literally anything but despair at the world sometimes — but it’s our human responsibility to keep at it. To keep fighting for justice and peace and accountability.

Too many excellent MPs and exciting candidates lost last night and it’s a net loss for Canada.

But if you’re like me and looking for hope:

• 26 candidates won, they will be our voice in Ottawa
• The Conservatives were kept at bay and Pierre Poilievre lost his seat

And it is what it is. Progressives in Canada need to regroup, figure out how to get our message across better, and recommit ourselves to doing the hard work that’s ahead of us.
