In natural environments when it rains, the water falls directly on trees, plants, and the soil, soaking into the ground and refilling our groundwater supply.

In urban areas with development and impermeable spaces, rainwater that falls on roofs and roads becomes runoff - ending up in our stormwater management systems with the pollutants it carries along the way.

Rain barrels are a great way to capture rainwater from our roofs, before it becomes runoff. Storing it for use later will also save you money on your water bill!
