Happy Canada Day from all of us at WeBC! 🇨🇦
This Canada Day, we’re celebrating more than our country's past; we’re celebrating the women entrepreneurs helping shape its future.
Across Canada, women-owned businesses are driving innovation, creating jobs, and building stronger, more resilient communities. From local main streets to global markets, their impact is real and growing.
Today, Canadian women-owned businesses generate billions in revenue and employ nearly one million people. When women entrepreneurs are supported, the ripple effect is powerful.
We’ve seen this impact firsthand. Last year, we provided over 24,000 services to women, a 43% increase from the year before, highlighting both the growing demand and the opportunity ahead. We're the proud BC Loan Fund Partner of the WEOC National Loan Fund, which has lent over $32.3 million to Canadian women-owned businesses in the past 3 years. Every dollar lent through our loan program generates $15.44 in economic impact here in BC, helping women start, grow, and scale businesses that anchor communities.
We also know there’s more work to do. Barriers still exist, but together, we’re building a more inclusive and equitable business landscape where every woman entrepreneur can thrive.
🌟 Here’s to the builders, the risk-takers, and the changemakers.
🌟 Here’s to community, connection, and growth.
Happy Canada Day from all of us at WeBC 🇨🇦
