Spring has sprung and it is time to set some healthy and fun new goals...

Dr. S here: Six months ago, our amazing team of business owners got together for the difficult task of choosing just ONE person as our 2016-17 Makeover Winner...and we chose Susan! She wasn't the youngest or oldest, the smallest or biggest, the poorest or richest applicant we had. We just felt she was the most dedicated, the most ready to move her life forward, with specific goals in mind, and a great can-do attitude! Over these six months, I think Susan remained almost bewildered that we had chosen her, but I think this "after" picture speaks volumes. To those of you following who know Susan, we give her back to you stronger, taller (!) and more determined to be the best she can be, knowing to listen to herself more than others, still fiercely loving and protecting her son. My wish for Susan is that she carries on with all of the lessons she's learned (and even learns how to make her hair curl like THAT!) and keeps us all posted!

Dr. S. here: I spent part of the last night of the 2016-17 Makeover time with Susan at York St. Spa (our hair and makeup team) relaxing, chatting, and having a pedicure (for Susan, part of her "prize package"). I was struck less by the outward changes in Susan than I was by the calm and confidence I heard and saw in her. I know I speak for all of us here at the Ottawa Makeover Project when I say thank you to Susan for making the most of what we had to offer, and we can't wait to watch you continue to shine brightly in the future!
