THEFT AT PEAR LAKE, BC today (July 7th).

So, my sons and I did a short camp trip. Our first time off together to just relax in months.

We decided to camp at pear lake since it has always felt like a second home.

We left today for the afternoon to have other adventures. We tidied our site, packed our food and living creatures, and drove out to town to get some gas, ice cream, check the farm critters and do some Kelly lake kayaking.

The theft affects my children the most. Which is disgusting and horrifying in its own ways. We only were gone for the afternoon…

So far from what we can tell, the following things were stolen:

- Cypress’s light brown/gold fishing rod

- Rowan’s paw patrol fishing rod (hadn’t even been in the lake yet)

- The boys Tackle box (with mostly a bunch of junk lol)

- A brand new hiking/kitchen bag with brand new can opener, some knives etc

- My FREAKING FAVORITE OLD CAST IRON PAN. (Permanent swamp arse cursed to whomever took this… I literally feed my family with the thing)

- Our bag of toys and games. They stole Rowan’s particular Archie comic he was going to mail to Ryker and his brain child cards and Cypress’s very very used Uno stored in a dirty sammich bag….. Our bag of fake gold coins we use for treasure hunts and a toy sword…. Like literally, WTF.

- Other random things we are still realizing. Like our plastic cutlery & plates, brand new tinfoil, giant new pack of napkins…

Feels like very much like the cracker behavior I moved here to escape, if I had to guess, but what the heck do I know.

They stole our sense of safety too as pear lake has always been a place for us to feel safe from other people, and relax.
