I have been telling my dad, every time he downsizes (twice since retirement), to keep his sermons because I want to read them someday. Well, he did one better! This Covid-19 spring, he reviewed all his Sunday afternoon sermons on the Heidelberg Catechism, summarized them, and wrote a book! I was super happy to design it, and he beamed when he saw the finished result. It is a beautiful book, but more than that... it is a "forever" book, one we are reading with our sons now around the dinner table; and one which we will refer to for the rest our lives. The BEST part is while reading it I hear my dad's beautiful slightly-Dutch-accented voice. Makes me well up a little.
