AKI
2.5Y | spayed | UTD on shots | obedience trained | housebroken | good with dogs | great with kids | no cats | medium energy
SEEKING: FOSTER-TO-ADOPT
This sweet girl has graduated her board & train program at & is seeking her forever family.
Aki loves a good walk (with or without a pack). She walks incredibly well on leash.
She can be nervous of new people, but she lets you know. Her body language is incredibly easy to read. It is of the upmost importance that you advocate for Aki and do not put her in uncomfortable situations and continue to set her up for success.
What does that mean?
1. Proper introductions. Period. With new dogs, new people etc.
(This should be standard with all dogs if you ask us but for Aki in particular it is a non-negotiable)
2. Continue putting in the structure and boundaries that her trainer has instilled!
She has been lovely around dogs and kids alike! She can be “iffy”with little dogs but we’ve been working on this with Alpha!
Aki is incredibly obedient and is also house-broken and crate-trained!
If you’re looking for a well-trained girl, look no further! She would be a wonderful addition to your home 😊
The benefit of FTA is that you have us and Alpha to work with you to help Aki transition properly into your home 🥰

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY - ALUMNI UPDATE 🥰
Its been one year since Blue (formally Apollo) has been with his forever family. We received the most heart warming update and wanted to share how Blue has been doing.
An update from his owners:
Thank you for touching base. I think your organization does such an amazing job with the dogs and the humans..You guys have fantastic customer service and we have nothing but great things to say about your organization.
I can't believe it's only been a year, it seems like we have our dogo forever. He is our gentle giant. He is a massive dog breed who actually believes he is the size of a teacup poodle or something as he is always trying to snuggle on someone's lap. He is the most affectionate dog I have ever seen. He has blended in with all the family very well right from the beginning . We always wonder if he is just so thankful to finally find a family to love him as much as he loves us. He is pretty laid back for the most parts of course there are his moments of zoomies here and there. We are big campers which we were unsure how he would do when we took him out last summer but he loves camping just as much as we do. And you will never find another dog who loves to swim as much as he does. We were quite shocked as we heard Boxers are not normally fans of the water. But oh my goodness, Blue must be part dolphin.. ha ha

Training Tuesday: Dogs and children
Dogs make wonderful family pets. For the safety of dogs and children, we thought we would make a training Tuesday post about how to keep both dogs and children safe in the home.
Here are 3 important things you should know about dogs and children:
1. Learn dog body language and help educate your children. Dogs can't speak to us but they tell us a lot through their body language.
2. Always supervise dogs and children together. Both children and pets can be unpredictable and when we supervise them together with knowing dog body language we can ensure everyone's safety.
3. Advocate for your dog. Your dog tells you a lot through their body language. If you can see they are uncomfortable or overexcited you can help give them space by being their voice.
Let us know other ways you ensure both your children's and dogs' safety in the comments.

ADOPT TEA
F | 2Y | 45 LBS | Mixed | Spayed | UTD on shots | Kid Tested | Dog Tested | NO CATS | Housebroken | Crate-Trained | Sweet
Meet Tea, the totally sweet and social pup that will be the life of your next par-TEA.
Tea has had a pretty rough life before coming to Canada, and now she is thriving and looking forward to joining your family! She loves her humans, so much so that she prefers your pats of affection and words of affirmation to treats when she does things that make you proud.
Given Tea’s social nature, she has responded well to introductions to other pups and children. She has had positive interactions with pups of all ages and sizes, but given her docile temperament, she might do well in a home with another chill pup rather than an alpha since she will try to respond in kind. She also has met other children, and she is thrilled to meet them and wants to lick their little faces. As long as the children are respectful of her, Tea will definitely respond in kind. Cats are not recommended as she does have a pretty strong prey drive.
On a typical day, you can find Tea lounging in a sunbeam before heading outside for some playtime. She is still working on her leash skills as she is quite a strong pup and wants to chase all of the squirrels, so a firm hand on walk is necessary. She does love her walks and ideally would be out 3+ a day to stretch her legs and expel some energy. Like many dogs who come from a shelter environment, Tea will also need a hand with housebreaking but being outside will help with that! Her ideal day is just to spend as much time with you as possible, as she really, truly loves her humans above all else (even treats)!
Please consider bringing Tea home if you are looking for a brew-tea-ful pup that will love you unconditionally!
