It was puppy mania yesterday at Central Station when Autism Dog Services stopped by for a visit with their first responder litter, Honour, Harbour, and Hero, with mom Hartley. All the puppies will be trained to become service animals.
We were especially excited to meet Honour, whom we named and sponsored with a donation from our 2024 Charity Golf Tournament. The name Honour was taken from one of our values, which is also displayed in our crest. We appreciate the gift Honour presented us with also, a painting she made.
Thank you to Julia Hartless and the other puppy raisers/trainers who attended to help facilitate the visit as it was an overwhelming success with the members.
Autism Dogs Services primary program is to provide autism service dogs to people over three years of age with autism and related disorders.

Hamilton Police members were in Ottawa for the 48th Police and Peace Officers Memorial Service held on Parliament Hill. Three historical names were added to the wall of men and women who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
Yesterday was the final destination for our runners and riders arriving in Ottawa after 3 to 4 day journeys, running 460km and riding 700km, making their way from Toronto and Aylmer to honour our fallen. Our runners and riders were joined by many other Hamilton Police members with approximately 100 members in attendance at the ceremony including two Hamilton motorcycles, two horses from our Mounted Unit, three members from our choir, three Auxiliary members, and 18 Special Constables, as well as sworn and civilian members, and senior officers.
This National Memorial gives Canadians an opportunity each year to formally express appreciation for the dedication of police and peace officers, who made the ultimate tragic sacrifice to keep our communities safe.
We also participated in the 28th Annual Canadian Police Association Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday. Thank you to MPP Monica Ciriello for joining our golf foursome, along with two board members and a HPA member. We always appreciate your support.
