It's days like these past two (when it's sunny and over 15 degrees) that really put it into perspective of how powerful Seasonal Affective Disorder is ... I know I wasn't the only soul feeling like a new person

Many of us aren’t journal fans yet there is value in writing the chaos in your heart and mind out. Writing helps connect the dots between bodily awareness, emotion, words, and thoughts.

Burnout isn’t always about the grind at work. We can experience burnout when we have lost sense of meaning in our work or relationships. We can also become burnt out when we feel like our efforts continuously go unnoticed or unappreciated over time.

Mindfulness doesn’t always mean meditation. It can be an intentional effort to refocus and let go of the noise.

We can get so caught up in our thoughts and concerns that we neglect the world around us.
Consumed by our thoughts, we move around in a trance-like state; overlooking the little things surrounding us that are beautiful, weird, silly, and interesting. It’s these little things that help to ground and balance us - reconnecting us to the bigger picture.
Mindfulness can be as simple as looking around us and being curious. When I get out of my head, I never fail to find interesting things that put a smile on my face.

Beware of the pressure to only think positive thoughts; it can be inadvertently a way to abandon yourself. Processing all of our emotions allows us to understand our experiences honestly, which builds real resilience and self-trust. Forced positive thinking, on the other hand, creates pressure to ignore our true feelings, often making distress linger or intensify.
👉 Feeling our feelings isn’t the same as wallowing — it means acknowledging emotions, letting them move through us, and responding with intention, rather than getting stuck in them or letting them take over.
👉 Reframing negative thoughts isn’t self-gaslighting — it’s the skill of challenging unhelpful thinking patterns while still validating the pain or fear underneath, not denying our reality but expanding it.

The universe and our higher selves are always guiding us - even through the nonsense and terrible times. As would remind us: When we feel knee deep in misery, the best three mantras for us are:
1) Huh, interesting …
2) So what?
3) Why not?
The fourth one I like to add is: What is this all trying to show/tell me? What am I to learn from all of this?
Emotional abandonment echoes forward from our pasts. Not all abandonment is physical - the silent treatment, not being there when it counted, disregarding feelings and ones vulnerability in the tiniest of moments counts as it. Healing the patterns can free us

Was so stoked to get these in the mail. Now need to figure out how, where, and when, to get on the trails
It might seem too simple to do the trick but humming can be a powerful tool to interrupt intrusive thoughts. Humming (and singing) can help massage our vagus nerve - kicking into gear the part of our nervous system that helps to calm us down.
