Playing for the name on the front since 1991. I grew up North of Kingston, Ontario in a small community named Glenburnie. There with the encouragemnt of my friends and family I discovered a passion for athletics and sports media. If it was on TV, radio, or in Sports Illustrated I wanted to know about it. I fell in love with everything from NASCAR to the then new Toronto Raptors and beyond. That pa
ssion led me to Frontenac Secondary School in Kingston where I competed in basketball, football and tennis for five years while being active in student government. I was fortunate to be recruited to a variety of OUA schools following my senior year in 2009 and decided to call McMaster University home, despite the fact I would sit behind eventual 2012 Hec Creighton award-winner Kyle Quinlan. Best decision I ever made. The best coaching staff in Canadian University football gave me every chance to learn, develop and perform at the highest level. As a starter in 2013 I set the McMaster school record for pass attempts in a season (314) pass completions in a season (199) and passing touchdowns in a season (21). In my last season at McMaster we cut back on the hero statistics, and went 7-1 in the regular season before winning the Yates Cup, Mitchell Bowl, and nearly winning a Vanier Cup. I finished my career at McMaster second in career pass attempts (762), second in career pass completions (493), first in career completion percentage (64.7%), and third in career passing touchdowns (49). Of all the accomplishments and memories there is one that stands out. My high school and McMaster teammate Ben O'Connor and I hold the record for most games played in a Marauder uniform at 57 due to our Vanier Cup runs in 2011, 2012 and 2014. While a member of the football team I created OVFL Live and OUA Today. Both weekly radio shows and podcasts which highlighted amateur athletics. The shows aired out of CFMU 93.3 McMaster University radio where I held the position of sports director. While at CFMU I also discovered my love for calling mens and womens basketball games. After graduating with a political science degree in 2014 I began working as a freelance sports broadcaster and journalist. Soon after it was announced that CKOC 1150AM in Hamilton would soon become TSN 1150 Hamilton. I immediately began as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats beat reporter and in-game sideline reporter. When TSN 1150 Hamilton officially launched on September 2, 2015 I became the afternoon drive host mixing local Hamilton stories with the biggest news in sports from 4-7pm Monday-Friday. In 2016 I began serving as the play-by-play voice of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats while contributing to the start of both the pregame and postgame shows. My major broadcasting influences include Jay Onrait, Dan Patrick, The Starters, Al Michaels, Dan Shulman, Tim Micallef and Mike Mayock among others!
