Cotton Factory
In the heart of lower Hamilton, this former industrial building from 1900 is a prime example of adaptive reuse. It has been transformed from the former Imperial Cotton Mill into a creative industries complex, with space for workshops, galleries, office space for creative professionals, and studios for artists. Filmmakers, photographers and special events are also drawn to the building by its unique aesthetic and its historic charm.

Pocket-Sized Muse is a guided creative workshop that invites participants to slow down, play with watercolour, and transform their unique explorations into a personal zine. The goal is to spark connection through self-expression and to leave participants with a gentle reminder that inspiration and creativity are always present within us.
The workshop will include:
1. A brief introduction to the wet-on-wet watercolour technique.
2. A hands-on demonstration on how to create a small, four-page zine
from an A4 sheet of paper.
3. A selection of inspiring texts (including Canadian poetry, quotes of Canadian artists and yogic excerpts) for participants to incorporate into your zine.
What to bring?
Favourite items to include in your zine, such as quotes, images, and any other inspiration you might like to add.
