Who else wants this to unravel from a banner on your bedroom ceiling and fall in front of your face upon wake up every day?

I read this a whileee ago in his book of short essays, Gratitude, where Sacks speaks about looking back on his life as an 82 year old in his final months on Earth. It still sticks with me today.

“How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives. What we do with this hour, and that one, is what we are doing. A schedule defends from chaos and whim, it is a net for catching days.” - annie dillard

Walking into 2019 thinking a lot about time and how I want to use it this year. This quote has scared me in the past, but I’m feeling pretty motivated by it now! 2018 kicked me in the crotch and I’m recognizing a few changes I can make in how I view work and schedules to make life richer. Hoping these will give me a little more time to do the things that I love about life, because what’s more important than that?!

If you’re exhausted/unmotivated/dying to do more than work and sleep, take stock this month of where you’re putting your time, I promise you have more of it than you realize! 🙌🏼 so cheers to 2019! 🍻

I lean towards the glass half-full life and it’s mostly easy for me! But sometimes it’s harder. I’m trying to lean into optimism more these days, because there’s ample pessimism out there. 🍻
