Team Canada Coach GM Gergely Szabo provides insight from the World U16 Olympiad in Turkey:

“Round 3: We barely had the time to prepare for our next opponent, Malaysia. Although they were relatively low-rated, the fact that they beat Armenia in round 1, and drew against Greece in round 2 advised us to maximum caution. I decided to rest Nicholas for this round, giving Svitlana the chance to play an extremely tense King's Indian – which ended in a draw after some fireworks. Fortunately, it was also the only half point Malaysia obtained: Rohan, Eugene, and Shawn all won convincingly. 3.5-0.5 was a great result, allowing us to battle the top seed in Round 4. Go Canada Go!”
