Derek is the ex-COO & Co-Founder of Suncayr (inventors of SPOTMYUV), world’s first clinically proven UV detection sticker. His entrepreneurial journey began in the lab, filing patents, to clinical trials, and then finishing up in retail sales and e-commerce. He was granted a US patent, selling into 7000+ retail stores including Walmart, CVS, Boots, and 40+ major retail chains as well as winning over 50+ pitch and technology awards. He’s been featured on CBC, NBC, Fox, BBC, Forbes Under-30.

At EF, he’s a Program Lead who brings in the right speakers and provides the right advice so you can focus on what matters most in the earliest days of starting your own business. He’s been through it all and promises to help you avoid key errors he has made along his journey.
