As a commercial mower, it’s FAR from a toy, but it’s a new piece of our ongoing commitment to our community, to keep things tidy and neat for all to enjoy, here at the Fairgrounds.

For decades, we’ve done our best to stay ahead of the grass & weeds on the property, with most of it being done by one man, Mel Switzer, and his classic tractor. (thanks Mel!!)
But in last year, he put in more than 65 hours alone, just dragging our big mowing deck around the fields, and there always seemed to be more grass waiting.

The great people at O’Neils had their eyes open for us, and found this gently used zero-turn lawnmower, and it runs like a dream. Best part, it has a steering wheel, so just about anyone can operate it!
We’ve spent a large chunk of change, adding it to the fleet, but feel that if we take good care of it, between it and Mel’s tractor, we can stay ahead of the grass for a decade or more to come!

We also have several weed-whackers, both the carry type and walk behind.
Pruners, and a yard cart to collect things up, etc.

We’re looking to assemble a team of volunteers, who enjoy a little landscaping work, any day of the week.
Maybe you’re like our Landscape Coordinator, Brian Lamb, and only have 10 sq ft of lawn at your house, and have the desire to cut just a bit more!
Some call it their “Zen Time”… running the rider across the lawn for an hour, in your own little world...
